Halifax trio, The Shining Hour take the classic heartland alt folk rock of acts like Grant Lee Buffalo and The Triffids and give it a West Yorkshire twist. No mere revival act The Shining Hour’s music tackles contemporary concerns but without a heavy heart or hand drawing you in with the warm rhythmic chug of their sound and the sweet wistfulness of their melodies.
Start to Run are a band born out of the isolation of covid lockdowns and then the rediscovered joy of jamming and writing music with friends. The music they create is a finely crafted balancing act between their warmly melodic and upbeat tendencies and their darkly introspective lyrical concerns. their self described “Sad Disco Anthems” merge Philly style lead & indie rhythm, with 80’s keys, synthy bass and melodic vocals to create a sound that’ll steal your heart. On this afternoon they will playing in a new acoustic configuration of their sound.
