Calderdale Big Band

Prepare for an afternoon of spectacular live music as the Calderdale Big Band returns to the Puzzle Hall Inn to launch the venue’s highly anticipated outdoor summer sessions.
Based in Ripponden and led by the “Mr. Halifax Sax” himself, Geoff Atherton, this formidable 20-piece powerhouse is known for its incredible range and energy. Their performance strikes a perfect balance between the “Roaring Classics” of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, and Ella Fitzgerald, and the contemporary “Electric Swing” and Jazz Fusion of Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, and the Average White Band.
With a staggering repertoire of over 250 songs—including unique “Rock Swing” covers of Paul Anka—there truly is something for everyone. Following last year’s capacity crowd, where the music echoed through the valley and the drinks were well and truly flowing, this is one gig and date definitely not to be missed.
Come along and support one of the region’s finest live ensembles at one of the north’s most iconic music venues for an unforgettable afternoon of entertainment.
