SUMMARY:Least We Got Shoes + Black Hill Band
DESCRIPTION:Bradford’s ‘Least We Got Shoes‘ are a rootsy rock and roll band crafting gritty yet heartfelt songs about the ordinary struggles of everyday life. Steeped in authenticity their music is a gritty fusion which blends rock\, bluegrass\, Americana\, and dashes of metal and punk\, creating a sound as true to their roots as the ground beneath their feet. ‘Boxcar rock’ – their chosen description of the sound they make combines the blue collar romanticism of Bruce Springsteen and winsome melancholy of The Smiths with the melodic chops and storytelling nous of Dire Straights.\n“Least We Got Shoes captivate audiences with their authentic storytelling and genuine musicality. Their music is a call to the wild\, a homage to the spirit of those who walk their own path\, resonating with the heartbeat of working-class life” – Moosic Entertainment\n“A gritty\, melodic blend of classic energy and modern edge” – Radio Wigwam\nhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61551784352468#\nhttps://leastwegotshoes.bandcamp.com/\n\n  \n\nThe Black Hill Band are a new group from the lonesome hills of Calderdale made up of seasoned local players making their own unique twist on classic blues\, folk and country\nhttps://blackhillband1.bandcamp.com/

SUMMARY:A Freaky French Takeover - Chicaloyah + Barnabaie + Fun Fun Funeral
DESCRIPTION:Chicaloyoh (Beauregard)Alice Dourlen’s atmospheric and dreamlike minimalist post-folk with Sazhttps://chicaloyoh.bandcamp.com/\nBarnabaie (Villefranche De Rouergue)Effect laden classical guitar backed with tape and vocal fragmentshttps://barnabaie.bandcamp.com/\nFun Fun Funeral (Occitanie) Freak folk lo-fi pop for drum machine\, saturated synthesisers\, and bird song.https://funfunfuneral.bandcamp.com/\n\nFREE ENTRY with donations for bands gratefully accepted\n\n—more info—\nChicaloyohChicaloyoh is the solo project of French musician Alice Dourlen.Through her career\, Alice has had a fascinating trajectory\, we dare to say one of the most fascinating of this decade; never staying too much in one territory she has explored ritualistic pyschedelicism\, folk\, experimental music\, industrial\, collaging\, spoken word\, minimal synth to the point that those tags have become meaningless. Never being generic always a true original\, each phase sees her more and more in her own world. FFO: Grouper\, Nico\, Nurse With Wound\, Catherine Ribeiro\, Roberto di Simone.\nTracks of L’Inventaire des Disparitions have been recommended by The Quietus on their monthly Rockfort mix and by the Independent Music Podcast in UK.\n“Chicoloyoh’s sound is incredibly unique\, best described as darkly introspective. It’s a magical combination of minimalism (near-tribal drum beats\, drones\, and repetitive guitar lines) and chant-like vocals which are reminiscent of Nico.” (Soundrainreview)\n“Her Nico(esque) dronals seemed to pierce the gloom beautifully\, pinned to skuttering beats that reminded me of Danielle Dax in places\, as those loose rhythmic folds hungrily ate into the ritualised delivery. […] Curling vocals seemed to haunt the battlements of each song like a screech-less Diamanda Galás. Fallen angels of French baptised in lush keyboards that wavered between pop\, psych and something altogether more unquantifiable.” […] avec l’onirisme vicié des films de Kenneth Anger\, l’érotisme terrorisant de Sade\, l’esotérisme de carton pâte des maîtres mystificateurs Cagliostro\, Aleister Crowley ou Helena Blavatsky” (Le Drone)\nBarnabaieBarnabaie puts his classical guitar through effects\, adds fragments of tape recordings and adds some vocals here and there. The promise of a stroll along the riverbank with images flashing before the eyes. The sounds coil around themselves. The guitar can be heard and then appears clearly once we have agreed to lose ourselves in the sound textures manipulated by Barnabaie. The landscape has wandered.\nFun Fun Funeralfun fun funeral shares its sensitive and audacious pop-songs\, bursting with vitality: playful drum machines\, saturated synthesizer\, high-pitched voice and playground ambiences invite us to a hallucinated pop ceremony. A blend of influences from across the Channel and the Atlantic\, in the tradition of Micachu and Animal Collective.

SUMMARY:Moose Knuckle + Euro Daddy
DESCRIPTION:Moose Knuckle have no delusions of grandeur. Just five mates smashing out raw\, riff-heavy tunes with enough sweat and sarcasm to peel paint off the walls.Their sound is jagged\, unapologetic\, loud & in-your-face & danceable somewhere between a sucker punch to the face\, and a night out you only half-remember. They’re not trying to change the world. They just want to make it shake a bit (a lot).\n“Solid punk swagger” – Aural Aggravation\n“If you’ve never seen Moose Knuckle then you’re missing a crucial cultural experience” – Vanyaland\nhttps://www.instagram.com/mooseknucklehq/\nhttps://www.youtube.com/@MooseKnuckleHQ\nEurodaddy is the pre-dystopian electro-pop solo project of local musician Tom Pullan. Going from big beats to cult movie moments and back with influences such as Tiga and John Grant It’s music for proactive ditherers which celebrates both the pop and the peculiar.\nhttps://soundcloud.com/…/eurodaddy-and-shoez-plimsoul…\nhttps://trampledtodefrecords.bandcamp.com/album/mirror-man

SUMMARY:King Of Foxes + Neon Bears
DESCRIPTION:When you turn on a KING OF THE FOXES tune\, it’s a safe bet that the skies will open\, alien aircraft will appear\, the ark of the covenant will descend before ye\, and all of your childhood pets will arise from the dead. Also\, you’ll hear an indie/alternative artist whose undeniably catchy tunes earned her a Rock Artist of the Year nomination at the Western Canadian Music Awards.King of Foxes is the project of Canadian singer-songwriter\, Olivia Street. Her music has the melodic verve and winning hooks of classic power pop filtered through the gnarlylense of a post-grunge sensibility. Her last album found its way onto some prestigious “best of” lists including as #11 on CKUA’s Top 100 Albums of 2022\, and among NPR radio’s George Graham’s Best of the Year list. Live she’ll give you the kind of high thrills sugar rush that’ll knock out your fillings.\n“Think Weezer’s self-deprecating charm mixed with Fountains of Wayne’s storytelling verve… this is existential rebellion with a power chord backbone and mascara-streaked bravado.” – Uranium Waves\n“Incredibly catchy and energetic indie rock” – Cup N Cakes Network\n” King Of Foxes are a Sugar Pop Indie Disco Delight” – Yack Magazine\nhttps://www.facebook.com/kingoffoxesband/\nhttps://www.kingoffoxesband.com/press\nhttps://kingoffoxes.bandcamp.com/album/hall-of-shame\nManchester’s Neon Bears! are an alternative rock band rooted in classic American rock of the grunge era such as Sonic Youth\, and Nirvana. They’ve got the visceral chunky crunch of Queens of the Stone Age but the unashamedly melodic charms of Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters. Dust off your patched denim and faded flannel shirt and party like it’s 1995!\nhttps://soundcloud.com/neonbears

SUMMARY:Foundling + Marlene Ribeiro
DESCRIPTION:ADRA promotions and Puzzle Hall Inn present…\nFoundling (Canda / Berlin)Ambient psychedelic experimental-pop from sound artist\, composer and harpist Erin Lang.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk4hR-LVdhs\nMarlene Ribeiro Hypnotic psychedelic dream-pop made of looping acoustic instruments and electronics on Rocket Recordingshttps://marleneribeiro.bandcamp.com/album/toquei-no-sol\nat Puzzle Hall Inn\, 21 Hollins Mill Lane\, Sowerby Bridge\, HX6 2RF4pm – 6pm.\nFREE ENTRY with donations for acts gratefully accepted\n\nFoundling\nFoundling is the evolving musical project of Canadian-born\, Berlin-based composer\, vocalist \, and harpist Erin Lang\, whose work explores the space between composition\, improvisation\, and deep listening. Known for emotionally subtle songwriting and expansive sound design\, Foundling’s music moves fluidly between experimental pop and ambient forms.\nThe Guardian UK: “-their album Equilibria is an intriguing mix of dream pop\, junkyard minimalism and glittery ECM jazz\, pitched somewhere between Julia Holter and David Sylvian. “Following the release of the band’s fourth studio albumEquilibria(2024)\, Foundling entered a more open and contemplative sonic terrain with Artemisia\, an ambient\, harp-and flute-led work released via Shadow World Records.\nArtemisia is largely instrumental\, incorporating spoken word and improvised passages that emerge from carefully structured harmonic frameworks. The music balances intention and openness\, allowing each performance to unfold differently in response to space\, resonance\, and collective presence.\nIn concert\, Foundling’s performances emphasize immersion and attentiveness. Harp\, voice\, flute\, and subtle electronics move between composed motifs and free\, intuitive exploration\, creating soundscapes that feel both grounded and alive. These performances often feel closer to listening rituals than traditional concerts\, inviting audiences into shared moments of stillness and intensity.\nLang has toured extensively across Europe and North America\, including over 70 performances supporting Agnes Obel at venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie\, Le GrandRex\, and Le Trianon in Paris\, and has opened for Timber Timbre internationally. She has collaborated with Roger O’Donnell (The Cure) Lasse Martin (Lykke Li\, Jónsi) Mark Lawson (Arcade Fire) and Mario Thaller (The Notwist\, Lali Puna).\nAlongside album releases and touring\, Lang’s practice occasionally extends into sound-focused presentations for festivals and community spaces\, informing her concert work while remaining rooted in live performance. For Fans of Harold Budd\, Alice Coltrane\, Grouper\, Midori Takada\, and Laraaji\nhttps://foundlingsounds.com/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXv54y0-iws\nMarlene Ribeiro\nA travelogue that unites physical and inner space\, a series of trance states rendered in vivid colour\, a delirious portal into the ether. Marlene Ribeiro’s debut for Rocket Recordings and first album under her own name is all of this and much more. Toquei No Sol is a fresh new chapter for this unique artist\, by far the most melodic and transcendent outing yet for her hypnotic dreampop.\nThis is only the latest release in a long history of sonic experimentation for Marlene\, which includes her previous work as Negra Branca across a series of releases on labels such as Tesla Tapes and Zamzam and a long period as a member of audial iconoclasts and Rocket mainstays GNOD\, not to mention collaborations with the like of Valentina Magaletti and Thurston Moore.\nToquei No Sol is also a record with a very distinctive and potent sense of place\, paradoxically despite having been woven together from recordings made in Ireland\, Wales\, Portugal\, Madeira and Salford. It’s genesis came via a visit to Marlene’s maternal grandmother Emilia\, whose influence as well as the sounds of her kitchen in Portugal can be heard on the album’s first track ‘Quatra Palavras’.\n“Emilia ended up getting excited about me being able to record things there and then and – total news to me – told me she used to sing a lot when she was younger to the point of getting offered studio time but refusing it as she was fearful of what that could imply in those times” relates Marlene “From that point I planned to include her in this record as sort of the chance she never had of getting her voice out there.”\nElsewhere\, a disarmingly catchy and irresistible grace is married to a utilitarian approach to sound and texture. The ritualistic “Sangue De Lua de Lobo” (first released on a Sofia records compilation Songs Of The Lunar Eclipse) contains random objects from Marlene’s then-garden in Ireland\, whereas on the drifting\, beatific ‘Forever’ the percussion tracks are constructed from the sounds of pots and pans in her own Salford kitchen.Yet at all times her fleet-footed approach to melody rings through even as the tracks conjure visions of heat-hazes\, meditative spaces and late-night epiphanies. Although listeners may hear echoes of the loop-driven psychedelia of Panda Bear’s Person Pitch or the incantatory ululations of Pocahaunted in these beguiling soundscapes and magick-strewn mantras\, the truth is that the aesthetic here is very much Marlene’s alone.“It’s all a big misty haze of nostalgia\, playfulness\, self-reflection and hopefulness” is what Marlene reckons herself. Yet Toquei No Sol is also a transporting vision from an artist both returning to her roots and looking out to new celestial horizons.
