SUMMARY:Spring Puzzfest - Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Doogle (17.00) are making waves with their mixture of classic indie pop hooks and youthful energy quickly becoming one of the North’s top independent talents. Initially the solo project of Joe Robinson\, during 2023\, bassist Harrison Hughes-Jones and drummer Aidan Phillis joined forces to take Doogle to new heights as a full band.\nPlaying venues such as Manchester Academy 3\, Parish and The Grayston Unity\, things have prospered and developed for Doogle. Now’s the time to catch them before the arenas beckon.\nhttps://doogle.live/\nhttps://www.instagram.com/dooglemusic/\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QiF-hVpI38\n“Doogle’s soulful vocals and evocative storytelling create a captivating and introspective listening experience both emotionally resonant and sonically rich” _ Tempo Magazine\nCavan Murphy’(16.00) is certainly no newcomer to the local music scene having gigged around West Yorkshire for the last five years\, much of that time playing as a solo acoustic act\, the teenage singer-songwriter from Boothtown pulled together a full band line-up in the summer of 2025 who have brought new strength’s to his songs. His songs combine the more melodious aspects of indie-pop flagbearers Los Campesinos! with the cheeky charm of early Arctic Monkeys.\nhttps://www.instagram.com/cavanmurphymusic/\nhttps://www.youtube.com/@cavanmurphymusic\n“Vintage high-energy\, urgent indie-rock that binds crunchy guitar and rattling drums.Stirring stuff\, indeed.” – Dirty Sunbeams

SUMMARY:La Cozna + Mary Hampton
DESCRIPTION:La Cozna brings together musicians Clémentine Ristord (bass clarinet\, drone box)\, Benjamin Garson (electric guitar)\, Pierre-Antoine Despatures (double bass) and Nicolas Jacobée (vocals). The quartet takes a series of traditional French songs from 20th-century collections and brings them into the present. Passed down in whispers in the secrecy of kitchens\, these women’s songs are stories of love\, violence and freedom that play on domination with humour\, drama and poetry. In Ni Nuit Ni Jour\, the ambiguity of the lyrics flirts with a feverish sound\, tense with desire and darkness.\nMary Hampton makes new versions of traditional songs and offers them up as questions\, and sometimes challenges\, to the modern listener. Using voice\, tenor guitar and a selection of other tools\, she carries them through her own peculiarly raw and tender sound-world. The stories she tells explore the timeless liability of embodied experience.“Hampton is a rare talent” The Guardian\nFree Entry\, donations towards the event are most welcome

SUMMARY:Northern Star Organ Trio
DESCRIPTION:Northern Star Organ Trio are a groovy hammond organ trio who play a winning mixture of instrumental soul classics\, rare groove and original tunes with a definite nod to 1960’s Blue Note recordings. Having formed in 2023 as an informal meet up between three old friends they have become a popular act in West Yorkshire known for their almost telepathic level of musicianship and the clear enjoyment they both give and receive from the audience. Each member brings decades of experience and has been part of influential bands like The New Mastersounds and Leeds barnstormers Meanwood Valley Stompers. This wealth of experience ensures an afternoon of impeccable musicianship and infectious rhythms that you won’t be able to resist.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/northernstarorgantrio/\nhttps://www.instagram.com/northernstarorgantrio/\nhttps://www.youtube.com/@NorthernStarOrganTrio\n“Don’t miss the visceral driving grooves from this super-tight trio.” – Norwich Jazz Club\n“The trio brings the house down with their vibrant and compelling fusion of sounds and soul-stirring performances.” – Lincoln Jazz Cafe\n“Soul jazz’ full of energy\, blues and groove” – Jazz Leeds\nhttps://www.facebook.com/northernstarorgantrio/

SUMMARY:Contraptions + West Echo Three
DESCRIPTION:Contraptions\, are a cutting-edge musical fusion of chaos and melody\, hailing from the steel city of dreams Sheffield. Born from the desire to push musical boundaries and redefine genres together they create a unique sound. They have the big riffs and hooks aplenty all harmoniously intertwined with the vibrant\, infectious sounds of wider influences. You might think Tool\, System Of A Down and Primus but this is music that goes beyond into Zappa like levels of flamboyant invention. With their relentless wall of distorted guitars\, intricate horn melodies and searing vocals they make prog-metal sound like the most fun you can have with your clothes on so hold on to your hats\, its going to be a wild ride!\n“If you’re happy to leave purism at the door Contraptions are a chaotic coming together of all sorts of sounds that probably shouldn’t work together and yet absolutely do.” – Jarred Up\n“Contraptions contort enough genres through their maniacally adrenalised sonic signature to become indefinable themselves. The real feat isn’t just drawing from a stylistic smorgasbord so wild it borders on unhinged; it’s the way Contraptions threads it all together without a stitch coming loose.” – A & R Factory\nhttps://contraptionsuk.bandcamp.com/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/ContraptionsUK/\nhttps://www.instagram.com/contraptions.uk/\nOldham’s West Echo Three are a metallic digital rock duo who deliver some balls to the wall rock excitement for the modern age. With their winning mix of lo-fi beats\, top drawer guitar shredding and snarled vocals they have gained a reputation as a formidable live act\, comfortable on any stage. The band’s passion for live excellence translates to their studio output\, too\, with their one EP and three singles (so far) receiving praise for their signature approach to songcraft .If you like your rock bang up to date with the kind of innovative mix of punk\, metal and electronica that make NIN seem like sedate old Grandpas ready for the retirement home then you’re in for a treat.\n“West Echo Three are cut from a different cloth when compared to most indie-rock music.” – Analogue Trash\nhttps://westechothree.bandcamp.com/\nhttps://www.youtube.com/@westechothree\nhttps://www.facebook.com/WestEchoThree/mentions/
