DESCRIPTION:Archipelago formed in Newcastle/Gateshead in 2016 and consists of: \nFaye MacCalman (Composer\, Saxophone\, Clarinet\, Synth\, Vocals) \nJohn Pope (Bass\, Effects) \nChristian Alderson (Drums\, Percussion) \n  \nArchipelago’s uncompromising ability to fit into one genre is a raw\, fully charged musical experience. Their last album ‘Echoes To The Sky’ received 4 **** on its release and has been described as “original\, evocative \nand at times\, haunting music” by Kevin Le Gendre on BBC Radio 3. \nSupported by “BBC Introducing” and selected as “a highlight” from Latitude Festival for Tom Robinson’s BBC6 Music show\, they were described as a “truly remarkable unit” by NARC Magazine. \nFaye MacCalman takes influence from artists ranging from Joni Mitchell to Don Cherry to PJ Harvey\, creating shimmering waves of sound that change rapidly from one song to the next\, as Archipelago move between instruments and electronic effects that create illusions of several musicians\, before peeling back to their raw trio form.
