DESCRIPTION:Kate McDonnell is a singer-songwriter from the US who plays her guitar upside down and backwards\, and sings with her whole being. She has performed at the Newport Folk Festival and Kennedy Center and on the Mountain Stage radio program and WXPN’s “World Café”. Her award-winning songwriting has been singled out for praise by The Village Voice and the Boston Globe. Kate is thrilled to announce her 6th recording TRAPEZE (Sept 2024)\, for which she has received some prestigious awards. Her 5th recording BALLAD OF A BAD GIRL (2021) included such musical luminaries as Jerry Marotta and Tony Levin topping Folk DJ charts at #5 upon its release.
